Apple 2022 iPad 10.9 inch
- Screen: using the OnePlus Pad bets on a screen unconventional aspect ratio, 7:5, which has a shape more similar to that of a book, making it easier to read and more comfortable in tactile gestures. It’s 11.61 inches at 144Hz and the display area is 88%, with very thin bezels. It supports Dolby Vision. The iPad (2022)’s screen is 10.9 inches at 60Hz, a low refresh rate for a tablet of its price.
- processor: Apple integrates its A14 Bionic chip into the iPad 10; It’s far from the newest, but it offers good performance both when navigating the operating system and when using applications and games. The OnePlus Pad doesn’t use Qualcomm Snapdragon, but MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000, which is very powerful and is aimed at high-end devices from 2022 onwards.
- RAM and storage: The OnePlus Pad is included 8GB of ultra-fast LPDDR5 memory and 128GB of internal storage UFS 3.1. The 10th generation iPad comes with 4GB of RAM and storage options of 64 or 256GB.
- cameras: Cameras have always been one of the hottest topics for tablets (other than Apple’s, which have been a step ahead), and we’ve found one 13MP rear at 4K video recording in OnePlus, although the front remains at 8 MP, which is most interesting on tablets because it is used more often. The iPad 10 has 12 MP on both the back and front and they are of good quality.
- battery: That promises Apple Your iPad 10 can last up to 10 hours per charge. OnePlus claims its pad can play videos continuously for 12.4 hours. It all depends on the use that is given to the device.
- operating system: The 10th-gen iPad uses iPadOS 16, as is common for the company’s tablets. The OnePlus Pad features Android 13 and the OxygenOS 13.1 customization layer with an interface that takes advantage of the size of the screen.
- connectivity– Both tablets are pretty much the same on this point, with WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 or 5.3 and USB-C. The iPad offers a superior version with 5G connectivity to not be dependent on WiFi networks.
- Other: The iPad 10 is even better with accessories and compatible with the 1st generation Apple Pencil and the Magic Keyboard Folio with keyboard and trackpad. The OnePlus Pad also has its own accessories, and both the stylus and the body with the keyboard and trackpad are very similar to Apple’s.
- Price: The OnePlus Pad can be purchased from the official store for 499 euros. The 10th generation iPad has an MSRP that starts at 579 euros.
iPad 10 VS OnePlus Pad, which tablet to buy?
Apple has decided to keep the 9th generation iPad in its catalog as the cheapest option and add the iPad 10 as a slightly more vitamin-packed version, but one remains in no man’s land. It works well, it’s supported by software updates for years, and a large number of custom applications are available on the App Store.
But it is a tablet with many but. The quality of the screen leaves a lot to be desired for its price and the refresh rate is limited to 60 Hz. It doesn’t pack Apple’s most powerful processor, nor does it have a newer one (the iPad mini, which launched months earlier, has it). the A15 Bionic), and yes, it’s compatible with the Apple Pencil, but it’s the 1st generation.
Although the number of updates is unknown, on paper the OnePlus Pad is a more attractive tablet than the iPad 10. Its 144Hz Dolby Vision compatible screen alone is worth it, and has a similar aspect ratio to Apple’s tablet (both are more square than wide). And if you plan to use it for work, it has its own accessories to get the most out of it.
