How to enable Do Not Disturb on iPhone
The first and most important thing to understand is focusing, unlike the old Do not disturb mode, received a significantly larger number of settings. - If you don’t want to mute repeated calls from the same subscriber, turn on the Repeated Calls switch. I would not recommend that. It is better to properly configure only the allowed contacts.
- Click Applications and select the programs that can send you notifications. I advise you to add instant messengers here so as not to miss anything really important from there.
- Go to “Settings” and make sure you turn on the “On lock screen” toggle. Then notifications that come to you will not make a sound, vibrate and highlight the screen, but will appear on the lock screen. The other two switches can be used as you like.
- Scroll down a bit and select the lock screen you want to see in this mode. You can create it from scratch if needed.
- Select the available home screens in Do Not Disturb mode. Remember that those you don’t tick will be hidden and the apps available on them can be found in the library.
- Click Add Schedule and choose when you want this mode to appear. For example, you can set the sleep time. At the same time, no one bothers you to execute “do not disturb” at the moment when you are resting during the day.

How to set focus on iPhone
But you can go even further and create multiple focuses to use at the right time. Before that, I recommend placing applications for work and leisure on different screens, and programs that should be available in each mode – on a separate one. So they can be properly hidden. We will focus on three different areas: sleep, personal and work. For each of them we set the necessary contacts, applications, lock screen and “Home”. At the same time, all of them are launched strictly according to the schedule and do not overlap with others. I offer the settings on my example. You can of course change them as you like:
- Let’s set up the most important thing first – focus sleep.
- Following the example in the guide above, open the Settings on your iPhone and go to the “Focus” section.
- Select “Sleep”.
- In the People section, add users who can send you notifications even while you sleep, and choose who can call you.
- In the Applications section, select programs that can send you notifications.
- Go to “Settings” and turn on the “On lock screen” toggle.
- Scroll down and select your lock screen. Home screens cannot be selected, so all are available.
- Click “Add Schedule” and set the time from 00:00 to 07:00.
- Return to the focus list and select Work.
- Follow the same steps to set up people, apps, and lock screen as you did for sleep focus. In this case only, select work contacts and applications.
- At the election home screens Leave only those on which you previously hosted working applications and which should be available in all modes.
- Click Add Schedule and set your working hours. In my case, for example, it is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.
- Return to the focus list and select Personal.
- Perform an adjustment similar to the previous two focusing. Only now set the notification tolerance for your personal contacts and applications without work and choose the lock screen you want.
- When choosing home screens, activate those on which you have placed personal applications and which should be available in all modes.
- Click “Add Schedule” and set weekdays from 5:30pm to 12:00am.
- Click “Add Schedule” again and set it to 07:00 to 00:00 on weekends with no sleep
