Apple 2022 iPhone SE (64GB) – Midnight Black (2nd gen)
Google Pixel 7a – Unlocked 5G Android Phone with Wide Angle Lens and 24 Hour Battery Life – Charcoal Grey
- Screen: The iPhone SE 3rd generation has a 4.7-inch 60 Hz Retina IPS LCD display with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels, a maximum brightness of 625 nits and a wide color gamut. The Pixel 7a offers one 6.1 inch OLED panel with an HDR-compatible resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It offers AOD, a feature reserved for the latest iPhone Pro.
- processor: The Pixel 7a has the Google Tensor G2, which emphasizes artificial intelligence and not as much performance as is the case with the A15 Bionic which the iPhone SE (2022) uses.
- RAM and storage: iOS and Android manage memory differently, so the 8GB on the Pixel 7a and 4GB on the iPhone SE (2022) isn’t an indication that one phone performs better than another. Apple’s proposal can be chosen with 64, 128 or 256 GB of storage, while Google’s comes with 64, 128 or 256 GB of storage 128GB UFS 3.1.
- cameras: The 3rd gen iPhone SE features a single 12MP wide-angle rear camera and a 7MP FaceTime HD front camera. The Pixel 7a relies on a Dual rear camera with 64 MP main sensor (wide angle) and another with 13 MP (ultra wide angle). The front camera has an ultra wide angle of 13 MP.
- operating system: iOS 16 in Apple terminal and Android 13 in Google terminal. The Pixel 7a is updated to Android 16 and will receive security updates until more than 2028.
- battery: Apple promises up to 15 hours of video playback With its 3rd generation iPhone SE, Google ensures that its Pixel 7a has a battery life of more than 24 hours, although depending on usage.
- connectivity: The newer Pixel 7a has better connectivity as it has Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6e, in addition to incorporating high-speed USB-C (something to appreciate if you only need one cable). The iPhone SE features Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 6. Both devices can connect to 5G phone networks.
- PriceAlso interesting: The Pixel 7a is available for 509 euros, the iPhone SE starts at 559 euros in the 64 GB version.
Pixel 7a VS iPhone SE 3rd gen, which phone to buy?

The iPhone SE (2022) is a phone that was already born with one big problem: its design. Large edges and an aspect first seen on the iPhone 6 in 2014. It’s like being a smartphone frozen in time and it doesn’t matter that it packs a very powerful processor, one of the best on the market; If it looks outdated, many users don’t like it. It also sings on the drums, which is very small, and giving it a bit of a reed isn’t enough.
Google’s Pixel 7a isn’t a perfect phone. In fact, many users have also criticized the design, especially the edges, which, while not as striking as those of the 3rd gen iPhone SE, are not as aesthetic as those of the older brothers. However, Its screen (OLED at 90 Hz) and autonomy are betterand software update support “isn’t bad” (far from what Apple offers, although you have to keep in mind that the older an iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch/Mac gets, the fewer updates it gets).
Although its processor is relatively new, it is not one of the most powerful. It’s gone from 5nm to 4nm, making it more efficient and faster, but it doesn’t fight titans like Apple’s A16 Bionic or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. And it’s a little “cheaper” than the iPhone SE, but its MSRP is higher than that of the Pixel 6a, a decision that didn’t please at all, especially when the latter can still be purchased at a cheaper price since the iPhone SE’s existence 7a . It can even be found on sale for around 350 euros.
